VFW Life Member George F. Koepke, 98, went to his heavenly home, on Sept. 5th 2023, to reunite with his beloved wife.

He leaves behind his five children, Pamela Ray, Wendy Kay, Robin Gay, Kim Renee, and Kevin Jay. Grandchildren, Rebecca Joy, Jessica Rae, Sarah Marie,  Brett Taylor, Natalie Jeane, Jay Elise, and Autumn Renee, and eleven great grandchildren. 

George was in the Army Air Forces, Pacific theater, WWII. He served as a crew chief on C- 47's and C-46's. He went on to work at the Erie Army Ordinance Depot before being transferred to NASA at White Sands Missle Range, and then to The Manned Space Center, later Johnson Space Center, He retired in 1979 to Woodville, where he did what he enjoyed including woodworking, clockmaking, repairing many things and traveling with his wife and mother of his children, Reta Marie, who preceeded him in death.

    Services will be on Saturday, September 16th, at 11:00 am,  Faith Lutheran Church, 704 West Holly in Woodville.
